My name is Troy Armstrong and I have been flying drones and editing videos for 5 years now. For me it is an art form. Taking a new place as a blank canvas and using the drone to paint it in a way no one has seen before. An act of pure creativity where the brush (controller) seems to paint itself. After flying, I also love the aspect of taking the raw footage and weaving it together into to a cohesive composition, usually using music to elevate the drone shots and make each video I create into a unique qualitative experience. The essence of it is taking a dream or vision and sculpting it into reality with the drone. Now with the inception of Aerial Dream Productions, my goal is to help bring those dreams to life for others. Taking intangible goals and making them into reality. Maybe it’s an artist trying to bring a song of theirs to life so they can leverage the image oriented aspect of social media, or a small business owner trying to showcase their business from a different perspective, or a ski resort trying to showcase their mountain/terrain in a new way, or a realtor trying draw attention to a new property, or a bride and groom trying to capture their wedding in a unique way. The one constant is that well done drone shots can capture people’s attention, which is the most valuable commodity there is. If you can hold someone’s attention and show them something creative, that they haven’t seen before, then you can leverage this to help achieve your goals.
